Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI and Breast MRI)
MRI uses a magnetic field to distinguish tissue densities, allowing for the assessment of anatomy, morphology, physiology, pathology and function.
Our high field MRI is the strongest magnet in Cherokee County, allowing us to perform advanced exams, such as MR angiography and evaluation of intra-abdominal processes. Our magnet strength also ensures clearer images, making patient diagnosis more accurate regardless of the area of interest.
Our MRI’s short bore design alleviates concerns about claustrophobia and ensures patient comfort.
CT utilizes advanced computers to reconstruct x-ray data and is capable of depicting various internal body parts in much greater detail than standard x-ray film.
CT scans have many uses, including the detection of abscesses, strokes, and head injuries, as well as lung and abdominal abnormalities. Our CT scanner can also produce images suitable for 3-D reconstruction for fracture evaluation and CT angiography.
The speed of our 4 slice helical scanner allows for faster patient exams and expanded coverage.
Ultrasound (US)
An Ultrasound exam is a non-invasive way of obtaining images from inside your body. Ultrasound uses high frequency sounds waves instead of x-rays to obtain images. The reflected sound wave echoes are recorded and displayed as real time images. IAC provides Ultrasound exams every day of the week to best serve your medical imaging needs and schedule!
Bone Densitometry is a simple, proven x-ray practice that accurately and painlessly measures bone mineral density. This exam helps determine whether you are at risk of fracturing a bone and can help diagnose or identify your risk for osteoporosis. IAC offers bone densitometry exams, using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). This advanced technology is a safe (low radiation), painless (non-invasive), and fast (few minutes) exam.
